This leads to a range of chronic symptoms, like anaphylaxis, and other symptoms like cardiovascular, dermatological, gastrointestinal, neurological, and respiratory problems. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The release of mediators happens when the allergy antibody IgE, which is present on mast cell surfaces, binds to allergens (proteins that cause allergies). Some of these mediators are retained in granules in mast cells and released promptly, whereas others are produced slowly after the cell has been triggered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other things that can activate mast cells include drugs, diseases, and insect or reptile venom. These responses, while undesirable, are produced by &#8220;normal&#8221; mast cells. They are referred to as &#8220;secondary activation&#8221; because they occur in response to external stimuli. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, through the lens of traditional medicine, MCAS is the cause of an imbalance in doshas, namely, vata and pitta doshas. This leads to the accumulation of ama in the body and manifests symptoms of MCAS. However, the condition can be conceptualized through various Ayurvedic principles and terms based on the symptoms and underlying imbalances.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MCAS can be related to the following Ayurvedic concepts:<\/span><\/p><p><b>1. Tridosha imbalance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The symptoms of MCAS often reflect an imbalance in the doshas, particularly Pitta (inflammation and heat) and Vata (instability and erratic movement). Kapha dosha might also be involved, particularly if there are symptoms of congestion and heaviness.<\/span><\/p><p><b>2. Ama (toxins):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The accumulation of ama due to weak digestion (agnimandya) can be seen as a contributing factor.
